Last fall I proclaimed this ruana (otherwise known as a poncho, cape, or shawl… whatever term you prefer!) the easiest wardrobe piece you’ll ever wear.

Because it really is.

But what I didn’t expect was just HOW MUCH I’d actually use and wear mine.

In the year since it made its last appearance on the blog, I’ve been wearing it non-stop behind-the-scenes. It’s easily one of the cuddliest, coziest wardrobe pieces to have around.

I curl up in it on the couch while I’m writing blog posts.

I throw it on when Johnny needs a quick extra walk (due to his medical conditions).

I throw it over myself between cold winter outfit shoots to stay warm.

I pretty much perpetually have it at arm’s reach so I can cuddle up in it whenever it gets cold.

And isn’t that the definition of the perfect winter antidote? A warm, cozy, blanket-like shawl you can wear inside and outside, to the office or to the park. This ruana really is one of the best wardrobe investments I’ve ever made!
