RL & Breton Stripes

RL Restaurant Hydrangeas Earlier this week I met up with fellow Chicago blogger Katharine of Paytington & Co to discuss some exciting upcoming blog collaborations over lunch. Being two die-hard Anglophiles, we chose Ralph Lauren’s only restaurant, RL, not only for its simple and delicious American fare but also because the dark, library-inspired decor practically transports you to a set for Downton Abbey. From the floor-to-ceiling bookcases to the beautiful leather chairs and various fireplaces, the ambiance evokes nostalgia for a more refined time where quality and attention-to-detail reigned.RL Restaurant Chicago RL Restaurant Chicago Leather ChairsThe elegant yet cozy atmosphere was the perfect setting for the two of us to chat about all things blogging and British. I highly recommend the almond-scented coconut macaroon with chocolate:
After writing so much about why I love this blazer, I took the dreary, unseasonably cold weather as a sign to bring it out for a little outfit post. I paired it with a simple breton-stripe tee and ripped skinnies to stay casual but still professional.Smythe Blazer and Boden Breton Stripe Tee Pied a Terre Imperia Wedge Modalu Pippa Brogue SharkJ Brand Misfit Crop Smythe Blazer Modalu Pippa SharkSmythe Blazer and Modalu Pippa BrogueSmythe Blazer and J Brand Jeans BackDon’t you just love the subtle peplum detailing in the back?
