Wishing you all the happiest of Valentine’s Days today!
A week ago I was really looking forward to Valentine’s Day. Hubby and I are going through quite the honeymoon phase these days — he’s been helping me right and left with anything and everything these last few hard months. He’s been my sole savior. My rock. My sanity. I can’t even glance at him without swelling with love. Most days this month I’ve felt like the luckiest woman in the entire world.
And isn’t that how a spouse is supposed to make you feel?
So this year more than ever I was really looking forward to celebrating Valentine’s Day tonight with him. To have one really mushy, cliché evening with my Hutch man.
Unfortunately though reality has struck. Over this past weekend I’ve developed one of the worst sinus infections I’ve ever had in my life.
I’m rarely sick but when I am, man am I down for DAYS.
These last few days have been HARD. I’m sneezing, coughing, and snotting all over the place. It’s truly disgusting. And pretty much the opposite of romantic.
My nose is swollen. My appetite gone. My constant companions are one snuggly pug and a box of kleenex. I can hardly talk but am up all night coughing. Poor Hubby has barely been able to sleep with me in this wretched state.
So for those of you not covered in mucus and blankets, be sure to go out and celebrate for me tonight. Because Hubby certainly doesn’t have a very romantic night ahead of him despite deserving so much more from me right now.
But hey, at least he’ll get some sloppy pug kisses!
