Doors of Italy

Rome 2019

I say this ALL the time but I am SO lucky to travel the way I do for my job.

If you'd asked 13-year-old-me what my dream job was, I'd have answered "travel photographer".

There's nothing I love more than exploring the world through my camera lens.

And I've been lucky enough to travel A TON this year, including my first trip to Rome and Umbria, Italy this summer. Which was... in a word... unforgettable.

Italy always catches me off-guard. Her beauty, her culture, her energy... its such an intoxicating place. And I always burn through twice as many SD cards then I think I will shooting. Everything in Italy is just so photogenic! Like the doors in today's post. I began this series just minutes after arriving in Umbria. I saw a beautiful doorway and spent probably 10 minutes framing the photo to get it JUST right (streets in Italy aren't exactly level). And it began an entire obsession with photographing all the amazing doors I saw during my trip to Italy.

It goes to show that even the smallest things can make your trip truly magical...
