Can you believe it?

It’s finally the first day of SPRING!

It’s so crazy to think that it’s already been a year since my trip to the Arctic Circle in Finland

All that majestic snow and those beautiful Northern Lights…

What a way to ring in spring 2017.

This year is certainly more relaxed, being spent at home in Chicago. But that doesn’t make spring’s arrival any less exciting!

And I don’t know about you, but I’m craving a “spring” in my wardrobe step… pun intended. So I’m sharing the 5 spring wardrobe fresheners I’m investing in this season! Maybe one or two are on your spring wardrobe wishlist too!

5 Wardrobe Fresheners for Spring 2018

1. Basket Bags

Spring is certainly the season I embrace vintage styles in the most — perhaps it’s because it just feels so appropriately romantic for the season of “rebirth”. And last spring’s Jane Birkin-inspired basket bag trend is back for 2018. I’ve been seeking out pieces in fresh shapes with vintage-inspired details to work with all sorts of spring outfits, from jeans to dresses, sneakers to heels. They go with everything!

2. Modern Trench Coat

A spring wardrobe essential, trench coats are perennial fixtures in any functional spring wardrobe. But this year I’ve been craving more modern takes on this classic — a-line silhouettes, bell sleeves, stripes (like my beloved Burberry!), and ruffles all give this a chic update for 2018.

3. A Straw Sun Hat

Spring feels synonymous with straw hats… the weather is still chilly so you need to cover your head but it’s finally warm enough to ditch the wool winter hats (except for my pearl beret, which I’ll be wearing indefinitely). The best part about straw sun hats is they’re a great summer wardrobe staple too so invest in one that you’ll wear with countless outfits.

4. A Silk Scarf

Silk scarves always feel like instant elegance to me. And in spring, more than in any other season, I crave extra elegance in my wardrobe. That doesn’t mean your silk scarf has to be stuffy though — tie it as a bracelet to your wrist with a casual weekend look for the perfect spring accessory.

5. Nude Lipstick

Nude lipstick is an essential year-round but after all the bright lipsticks I’ve worn this winter (very necessary during those gray months), I’m craving a more natural look for spring.

The best part about nude lipsticks is how easy they are — one swipe and you’re out the door. Just be sure to find one that compliments your skin tone; if you have cool-toned skin don’t invest in an orange-y or peach-y nude. And vice versa. I recommend heading to a place like Nordstrom and trying them out in-person to find your perfect match but, for now, here are some of my personal favorites:
