What I'm Into April 2017 Gucci Tom Dixon GlossierIt’s been FOREVER since my last “What I’m Into” post!

I’ve really missed this series — they’ve become some of my favorite posts to write since I get introduced to so many clever, creative, and innovative books, foods, and products each and every month that I’m just itching to share with you.

And since it’s been so long since I last shared some monthly favorites, today’s post has some cooler things than usual that I’ve actually been loving behind-the-scenes for the last few months.

And today I finally get to share them with you!

Gucci: Blind for Love Limited Edition Book

As a lover of coffee table books, all things British, and the new creative director at Gucci, I was ALL over this book when it was released this past fall. It’s a behind-the-scenes photo documentary of the Gucci Cruise 2017 collection which took place in the cloisters of Westminster Abbey (remember when I visited there in September?) — if you haven’t seen the show, you can watch it here. It’s a stunning encapsulation of British prep meets eclectic Gucci aesthetic and I’m so thrilled to have a copy of this book to enjoy for years to come.

It’s an essential for any Gucci fanatic or anglophile!

But be sure to order yours soon — the first release sold out in just a few weeks so this second release is bound to sell out any day now!

Tom Dixon’s Royalty Candle

Speaking of my anglo-obsession, this candle is everything I could ever want in a candle scent. Inspired by all things British — “a pot of Earl Grey, scones, strawberry jam and the drive home in a ’52 Bentley with tatty leather seats” — this candle is heaven to light up. Especially during these lovely early spring days when I dream of fancy afternoon teas and delicious scones.

The scent sings of springtime in London and comes in a smashing, lovely silver vessel that can easily be reused to hold make-up brushes, etc. I’ve bought a few from this collection (including the almost as obsession-worthy London scent) and expect to keep these in stock for months to come. They’re certainly pricey but so luxurious to light on special occasions!

Glossier’s Priming Moisture Rich Creme

What a beautiful moisturizer! I forget where I read about this miracle cream but now that I’m using it I’m in looooove. It’s a little lighter than my beloved face oil (so perfect for warm, sunny days) which makes it a great moisturizer to slather on before make-up. It keeps your skin bouncy and silky but without any residue. AND make-up really stays in place after this!

And compared to a lot of other face creams, it’s surprisingly affordable given it’s cult following!

Sound Tea’s Sparkling Rose Tea (c/o)

I don’t talk about it a lot here but staying healthy when you work and shoot as many famous restaurants as I do can be a CHALLENGE. I swear, I gain weight walking into pretty much every Chicago restaurant these days given how many chefs I’ve become close with. They always want me to try just one more dish…

So when I can, I try to eat as cleanly and healthily as possible. And, for me, that means cutting out sugar. ALL sugar.

And I don’t know about you but that can really be a challenge — especially with as many pastries as I shoot in a given week. So finding some great flavored foods that contain no sugar is VITAL. Recently I’ve discovered Sound Teas and am positively smitten! They’re inspired by a sound mind and body and are all about delicious, innovative flavors (organic rose tea with lime and cardamom anyone?) that taste like they should have sugar, even though they never do! I’ve tried almost all the flavors and found them to be fresh, delicious, and yet ridiculously healthy!

AND they’re newly available on Amazon Prime! What’s not to love?

Glossier’s Cherry Balm Dotcom Skin Salve

I’ve long been obsessed with this tube of lip balm and it’s quickly become a cult-classic among fashionistas. I used it ALL last winter and ALWAYS bring it on flights when I travel (it’s one of my in-flight skincare essentials!). But this new cherry flavor may be even more obsession-worthy.

The subtle cherry flavor reminds me of my beloved Lip Smackers from my youth and the sheer red color gives the perfect flush to lips on-the-go.

Cherry not your thing? It also comes in Coconut, Mint, and Rose!

  • I might be the only person out there who hasn’t tried Glossier products yet, but I think it’s about time! Everything I read is that people are obsessed and they are pretty versatile. Looks like I’ll be doing some online beauty shopping 🙂
