“Don’t ever become a pessimist… a pessimist is correct oftener than an optimist, but an optimist has more fun, and neither can stop the march of events.“
— Robert Heinlein

I’ll be honest, staying optimistic these last few weeks has been hard.
My life is far more complicated than I care to admit. My brain feels frazzled and wrung out most days. I’m tired, always behind on work, and almost always forgetting something.
Just a typical twenty-something really.
But lately I’ve been reminding myself of a few very important truths:
– I’ll never feel caught up on my work. Ever. I own my own business — I doubt I’ll ever feel like I’ve gotten enough done for it.
– I’ll always feel overwhelmed. We live in an age of extreme stimulation with so many platforms and layers — feeling lost in it all is normal and totally ok.
– I’ll never catch up on sleep. I’m a workaholic with insomnia issues, after all.
– I’ll always have my handsome husband and pugs to keep me grounded and smiling. Thank goodness.
Optimism is something I struggle with but it’s always my goal! Life is never perfect. Life has a lot of layers. Life is complicated. Non-linear. Unfair.
But there’s a lot to love and appreciate about it — it’s all about viewing life with some calmness, humor, and playfulness.
