What better birthday gift for my sister than to take her on her very first trip abroad? The fact that it coincided with London Fashion Week too only added to the excitement (and the inevitable stress of figuring out what to wear…).
But what could I give my sister on her actual birthday to best encapsulate such a ground-breaking trip for our family? Besides a legendary martini at Duke’s?
Luckily Papyrus’ newest collaboration melding the ornate femininity of fashion designer Lela Rose’s creations with the Papyrus’ premium quality cards provided the perfect answer. In honor of Fashion Month, Papyrus has launched a ground-breaking collection with designer Lela Rose — the first ever collaboration of its kind in the greeting card industry!
They were the perfect finishing touch to my sister’s fashion-inspired birthday bash.
Fusing the opulent design elements characteristic of Lela’s dresses with ultra-luxurious handcrafted cards, this collaboration is the perfect way to mark special and stylish occasions with finesse. And each card is so beautiful it feels like a piece of “fashion art” in its own right.
While much of the collection centers around chic illustrations of Lela’s gown designs…others are beautiful, 3-D renderings of her floral prints…complete with gilded threads, luxurious beads and super-thick cardstock to ensure you can display these cards after you receive them. And, believe me, you’ll WANT to display them ALL.
It was so hard choosing which ones to give to my sister (and which ones to mail home to family). But it was such a fantastic way to spread the birthday and Fashion Week love. And when my sister came down for her birthday breakfast she was absolutely entranced with the cards. It was so touching to watch her open them on the morning of her actual birthday on the very first day of London Fashion Week.
What a perfect way to mark such a special day for the most fashionable member of our family, wouldn’t you agree?(And hilariously enough, before the release of the Papyrus x Lela Rose collaboration, I had already found my sister another Papyrus birthday card… one with a slightly “bloodier” message… that I just had to give her too).
Happy Birthday Dear Sister!
