“A softer take on color for 2016: For the first time, the blending of two shades – Rose Quartz and Serenity are chosen as the PANTONE Color of the Year. As consumers seek mindfulness and well-being as an antidote to modern day stresses, welcoming colors that psychologically fulfill our yearning for reassurance and security are becoming more prominent. Joined together, Rose Quartz and Serenity demonstrate an inherent balance between a warmer embracing rose tone and the cooler tranquil blue, reflecting connection and wellness as well as a soothing sense of order and peace.”

Have you heard? For the first time ever, Pantone (THE authority on color trends) has announced TWO colors of the year for 2016 — Rose Quartz and Serenity.
With all the violence and sadness the world has faced these past few years, Pantone could not have chosen more relevant, peaceful colors for 2016. While some might find the combination of pale pink and blue a little juvenile, I feel that the childlike nostalgia these hues evoke couldn’t be more apropos. The world needs comfort, familiarity, and whimsy right now more than ever!
And I especially love wearing this combination in winter when the pastel hues feel so fresh and new, a visual reminder that spring will come again.
Here’s to more peace and whimsy in 2016!
