WCFDA x A Peace Treaty

A Peace Treaty W Lakeshore Chicago Hotel 23Chicago architecture is something that has always fascinated me. Everything from the Bean to the beautiful buildings along the Chicago River give the Windy City its distinctive architectural heritage and I often remind myself how incredible it is that I get to live near so many amazing sites.

So it’s about time that a clothing designer took inspiration from one of our unique spots, don’t you think?

The W Hotels Worldwide recently partnered with CDFA {Fashion Incubator}, an initiative of the Council of Fashion Designers of America, to “provide support to emerging talent in the fashion industry… be it designer showcases that provide exposure to new retailers, consumers and media; inspiration trips to any of W’s 46 hotels or retreats around the world; on-property runway shows and presentations; exclusive pieces for hotel guests inspired by specific destinations; and much more — the partnership is a reinforcement of the W brand’s ongoing love of fashion and commitment to fostering emerging new/ next talent.”A Peace Treaty W Lakeshore Chicago Hotel 2What does this have to do with Chicago architecture you may ask?

Timed to launch for Lollapalooza, CFDA designer A Peace Treaty announced the release of a luxurious, handmade silk robe designed exclusively for the W Hotels of Chicago to perfect the rockstar lounging look!

Inspired by Chicago’s iconic corn-cob buildings Marina Towers, this limited edition navy silk robe is entirely screen-printed by hand as well as hand-sewn. For the July 31st release, I was honored to be invited to their kick-off “Room Service” brunch with some of my favorite Chicago style bloggers.

Aren’t the Marina Towers the perfect textural inspiration for a robe?

It rivals my favorite Summer House burrata, though the two are very distinctively different in their flavor profiles.

The hazelnuts added just the right crunch to the creamy soft cheese!A Peace Treaty W Lakeshore Chicago Hotel 21 Afterwards we had a lot of fun modeling our new robes! The silk is so soft and scrumptious. It floats around in a really magical way — I’d honestly wear it out as an evening jacket too! You can order one of your own hereA Peace Treaty W Lakeshore Chicago Hotel 22Outfit details here (many thanks to gorgeous Lauren for these last shots).
