Last month Dylan’s Candy Bar officially launched its first Chicago location!

In case you’ve been living under a rock, Dylan’s Candy Bar is a Willy Wonka-esque candy shop dedicated to bringing out the child in all of us. Launched by Dylan Lauren (daughter of Ralph Lauren) in 2001, it’s sprouted branches in NYC, LA, Miami and finally… Chicago!

It’s about time we got our own chocolate river!

As part of the grand opening festivities, I had the incredible opportunity to interview Dylan to get her thoughts on being a female entrepreneur, on managing her hectic schedule, on her endless love for candy, and on being a new mother.

I can’t wait to share her answers with you tomorrow and give you a tour of the new Michigan Avenue space!

When it came time to pick something to wear for the grand opening party, I tried to find my brightest candy-colored hues to celebrate in (not to mention candy-colored nails!) . I pulled out these cobalt suede Stuart Weitzman sandals, which remind me of one of my favorite Willy Wonka scenes:Incredible stylist Jordan styled my hair in a smooth, voluminous style with TONS of shine (his specialty). I absolutely loved my carefree locks but I especially loved how wonderfully they SMELLED. Dennis Bartholomei is one of the only salons in the US that uses Shu Uemura products and Jordan has me completely hooked on the nourishing Essence Absolue which makes my hair smell positively divine, not to mention delivering MEGA-WATT shine!

My hair literally smelled like flowers and candy — the perfect finishing touch to my look for the grand opening. Stay tuned for a tour and my interview with Dylan tomorrow!
