Florals & Leather

Vera Bradley Zara Spring 8Though technically it’s spring here in Chicago, the weather seems determined to keep us on our toes. The last few days have been almost frosty (though I’m holding out for our rumored 70 degree weather this Saturday!) and dressing comfortably while embracing spring can be a challenge. Vera Bradley Harper Clutch Vera Bradley Zara Spring 1Vera Bradley Zara Spring 7La Canadienne Kara Boots in Espresso SuedeVera Bradley Zara Spring 3Skirt – Zara Brown Leather (new season updates here and here)

My favorite way to cope with the schizophrenic weather is to combine my winter and spring wardrobes into one outfit. For this look, I mixed my winter-weight leather skirt and cozy pair of wool-lined boots with this bright spring blouse and wow-does-it-go-with-everything white clutch. I love how the white clutch lightens the whole look and prevents it from looking heavy.

I’ve been shocked at how well this Vera Bradley clutch has held up since receiving it in March — at first I was afraid that the white leather would be high maintenance and easily dinged. But it’s held up beautifully these last few weeks and, when I’m not sure what bag to wear, it’s become my go-to.

How have you been lightening up your wardrobe for spring?
