Apologies for the [possibly] offensive length of my skirt. I’ve been going through a bit of a Cher Horowitz phase lately, watching Clueless a few times in the last month and dreaming of sunshine, palm trees and Prada…
With spring just around the corner, it’s hard to resist the urge to show a little skin after being bundled up for over 40 days continuously — even for generally modest dressers like me. And I love how warm and cozy this textured mini skirt is! When paired with a pair of over-the-knee boots, it’s the perfect piece to transition into spring with, allowing me to shed my winter coat while still feeling [mostly] bundled up.
I’ve mentioned before how much I’m loving the idea of playing with different pattern proportions in my wardrobe this spring. Whether it be varying sizes of polka dots or, in this case, checks, there’s just something so fresh and exciting about complimentary patterns!
Pro Tip: When mixing similar or identical prints, choose patterns that are different enough in their proportions to avoid appearing “matchy-matchy” but close enough in palette or style that they work together instead of competing with one another.
What trends are you incorporating into your spring wardrobe?
