I mean, let’s be honest, the holidays can be a crazy time for the most organized of us so it never hurts to have a fail-safe fallback to depend on when the merry-making feels more like pressure cooking. That’s where this little recipe comes in handy.
Years ago Hubby and I were hosting a few friends over for a holiday soirée and I COMPLETELY forgot to buy any drinks to serve. Once I realized, I frantically raced around the kitchen and our pantry and found two bottles of champagne, a bottle of pomegranate syrup and an old pomegranate. Suddenly it came to me: let’s make Pomegranate Champagne Spritzers! I scooped out the pomegranate, placed the seeds in the freezer and used them as festive ice cubes. Then I played around with the proportions of champagne and syrup until I liked the flavor profile and served them. They were a HIT!
And while I am by no means a mixologist, I do know this drink recipe is a crowd-pleaser!Along with traditional mulled wine, these simple pomegranate spritzers are my favorite holiday drink and the pomegranate seed ice cubes are unexpectedly delicious. Quick, easy and crowd-pleasing — my three requirements when I’m playing hostess. Stock-up on the ingredients now and be ready for any impromptu parties the holiday season brings!Easy Pomegranate Champagne Spritzers
Makes 4 servings.
1 Bottle Champagne (of choice)
Monin Pomegranate Syrup (here, or make your own with this recipe)
Ahead of time, freeze pomegranate seeds in a small container. When ready to serve, pour your desired amount of champagne in a glass then pour in the pomegranate syrup. I’d prefer to leave the proportions up to your palate since I’ve seen guests drink this spritzer with everything from one teaspoon of syrup to practically half a glass full. It’s really up to you!
Then top your concoction off with the pomegranate seed ice cubes and serve!
